You are primarily responsible for leveraging advanced mathematical and statistical techniques to analyze vast amounts of data related to renewable energy certificates (RECs), carbon credits, and other environmental commodities.

Your day-to-day tasks involve developing and refining complex models and algorithms that enable the company to forecast market trends with accuracy, assess various forms of risk, and optimize trading strategies. This involves not only understanding the intricacies of financial markets but also having a deep knowledge of renewable energy systems and the regulatory frameworks surrounding them.

Collaboration is key in your role. You work closely with the trading team to translate your analytical insights into actionable strategies, helping them identify lucrative opportunities and navigate potential pitfalls. Additionally, you collaborate with the research teams to stay abreast of emerging market dynamics and contribute to the development of innovative trading approaches.

Your role as a quantitative analyst is to harness the power of data and mathematical modeling to drive informed decision-making and maximize the company's profitability in the dynamic and rapidly evolving renewable energy sector.

 

The Role will consist of, but not limited to, the following actions on a daily basis:

  • Data Analysis: Utilizing advanced mathematical and statistical techniques to analyze large datasets related to renewable energy certificates, carbon credits, and other environmental commodities. This involves identifying patterns, trends, and correlations to inform trading strategies and decision-making processes.
  • Model Development: Developing and refining sophisticated mathematical models and algorithms to forecast market trends, assess risk, and optimize trading
  • Trading Strategy Optimization: Collaborating with the trading team to translate analytical insights into actionable trading strategies Risk Assessment: Assessing various forms of risk, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk, associated with trading renewable energy certificates.
  • Research and Innovation: Staying abreast of emerging market trends, regulatory developments, and technological advancements in the renewable energy sector.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL
  • Strong quantitative skills, including econometrics, time series analysis, and optimization methods.
  • Understanding of financial markets, trading principles, and risk management concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and modeling.
