The Analyst's role supports Sales-Traders in identifying, investigating, and developing commercial opportunities in the medium and long term. Reporting to the Head of Trading, you will collaborate together/receive direct support from the Trading department to determine which opportunities to pursue and prioritise. With your expert knowledge, you will become the internal knowledge center for complex issues, and will be responsible for distributing this knowledge where relevant in the company.

The analyst is an analytical, commercially minded person, who thrives on solving problems and putting pieces of the puzzle together. Far form a person who simply produces reports and graphs, the analyst is responsible for providing real opportunities to the trading floor and helping the trading team to understand and monetize these opportunities. Familiarity with climate/energy law, Confluence, and advanced excel skills are considered a plus.

The role will consist of, but not limited to, the following actions on a daily basis:

• Collect, clean, and analyze data from various data sources and build a quantitative representation of environmental commodities supply and demand.
• Investigate and report on relevant laws and regulations within environmental markets.
• Ability to think critically and analytically by being able to question and digest information from various sources and apply this to your analysis.
• Communicate daily with your teams'.
• Actively search for solutions for different markets issues
• Support Sales-Trader team while closing a deal
• Develop contact and relationships with markets participants  
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
• Process the various variables influencing our environmental commodities, translate these analyses into a view and communicate these insights

In order to be considered for the role you will meet the following:

• Fluent speaker in English, extra language is a plus
• Bachelor's or master's degree in climate or energy law, business, finance, economics, econometrics, engineering, quantitative studies or equivalent
• 1-3 year's experience in climate or energy related industries, commodities trading, brokering, business development, finance
• Self-starter, motivated and eager to develop your skills and become a knowledge leader in the environmental commodity industry
• Articulate, precise and excellent communication skills (giving and receiving feedback)
• Climate Advocate and have a drive to leave the world in a better place
• Living or willing to relocate to Amsterdam, The Netherlands
